The Reiki Precepts


Here is a close translation of the original Five Reiki Precepts:

Just for today:
Don't get angry.
Don't worry.
Be grateful.
Work hard.
Be kind to others.

Here is my version of the Five Reiki Principles:

Just For This Moment I Will...
Be at Peace with myself and the world.
Be present in the Now.
Live with gratitude and forgiveness.
Work diligently and with integrity.
Have compassion for all living things.

Notes on my Principles:

Just For This Moment I Will... - Anything I have to do forever is too hard. Concentrate on just Now.

  1. Be at Peace with myself and the world. - Where there is Inner Peace, Anger cannot exist.
  2. Be present in the Now. - Live in the moment. When we worry it is about the past or the future. Now simply is. When we live in the Now, we cannot worry.
  3. Live with gratitude and forgiveness. - Learn from every experience, even if it doesn't feel like a blessing at the time. Forgiveness is not just for others, it is also for ourselves.
  4. Work diligently and with integrity. - Work on ourselves; On the road to Higher Awareness don't take shortcuts, if you haven't learned anything, what's the point?
  5. Have compassion for all living things. - Respect the oneness of all life. Honor all our relations. We are all Connected, respect for others of all species equals respect for ourselves.
