Tarot & Oracle Readings
What is the Tarot? The Tarot is a deck of 78 cards, traditionally depicting archetypes from human experience. There are three kinds of cards in a tarot deck; the 22 Major Arcana, the 16 People cards, and the 40 Minor Arcana.
The Major Arcana represent the major themes in the cycles of our lives. The Court Cards represent the people who are major influences in our lives. The Minor Arcana represents the everyday things that effect our lives.
Artists and authors have created many themes, in every design you can imagine. Some Tarotists stick with one deck that 'speaks' to them, while others have many favorites.
I have my favorite decks, but I am flexible, and can use a number of decks appropriate to the person/animal being read, and the question.
I begin by cleansing my workspace with smudge and Clear Light, then call in my guides and guardians and my own cats, who by this time have already felt the energies of the cleansing and have decided who is going to lend their own energy.
When I read a Paw Print spread, I call upon Bast, Sekhmet, Diana, and Freyja, all Goddesses linked closely with feline energies.
I select a significator, one of the Court cards that best represents the personality of the person/animal being read. This becomes the central card in the spread.
I shuffle and cut the deck, keeping a fine focus on the question at hand, and visualizing the animal I will be reading. This is why a picture helps.
I layout the next 4 cards from the top of the now cut deck from the left to the right.
The first on the left represents the past and past influences on the question at hand. The next to the right is the present, as it is now. The third represents the future, as the past and present cards shape it. The last on the right is the outcome card, it shows how things are likely to turn out.
Please remember that there is nothing set in stone and that free will is everything in this world. Once an issue is brought to light, it can be worked on and changed if you don't like the potential outcome.
What are Oracle Cards? There is no standard or typical oracle deck. My particular favorite is the Animal Spirits Knowledge Cards illustrated by Susan Seddon Boulet, both because they are gorgeous, and because the meanings resonate with me.
Oracle cards are on the surface very similar to Tarot cards, but they are used in a different way. They give guidance and direction, and used in conjunction with Tarot cards, can often lend clarity to a reading.
What I need:Please e-mail me with info about the animal or animals I will be working with. Photographs help.
Readings will be sent to your email address within 72 hours after your information has been received.
There are no restrictions on the type of animal; birds, reptiles, cats, dogs, horses, rodents, 'exotics'... whatever.
A reading is for a 5 Card (non-traditional) Paw Print spread. All readings include a photo of your Cards.
You may choose from a variety of Tarot or Oracle decks or I can suggest a deck based on your type of pet.
