What are Runes?

Runes are a collection of 24 ancient symbols or letters. For our use, they are inscribed on small stones or sometimes pieces of wood. This collection, alphabet or 'futhark' consists of three "Aettir", or families, each named after a Norse God, Freyja, Heimdall, and Tyr.

Rune stones are an ancient form of divination. It is often used to foretell the future, however its more proper use is to connect the Quester's conscious mind to their all-knowing subconscious; or their mental selves to their spiritual selves.

In this way Runes are similar to Pendulum work, accessing information that the subconscious knows and bringing it to the surface. This is why I find that they work well together.

I begin by cleansing my workspace with sage and White Light, then calling in my guides and guardians and my own cats, who by this time have already felt the energies of the cleansing and have decided who is gong to lend their own energy.

When I cast a Paw Print reading, I call upon Freyja, a Goddess linked closely with feline energies and with the Runes. I choose 5 runes at random from the bag, similar to the classic 5-rune layout.

I lay out the first three in an inverted triangle, then the last two on either side of the top points.

The three central runes represent your past, present, and future. The center bottom rune is the rune of the present and will show your issue as it is now.

The rune above and to left of the center signifies the past and will tell you what has caused you to be in your current position. The rune above and to the right of the center rune indicates the help that you can expect to receive in the problem at hand.

The rune to the far left indicates what aspects of the problem are outside of your reach to change. The rune to the far right is the result rune. This rune indicates the final outcome.

Please remember that there is nothing set in stone (pun intended) and that free will is everything in this world. Once an issue is brought to light, it can be worked on and changed if you don't like the potential outcome.

There are no restrictions on the type of animal; birds, reptiles, cats, dogs, horses, rodents, 'exotics'... whatever.

A reading is for a (non-traditional) 5 Rune Paw Print spread, with Pendulum work for clarity. Both the Runes and the Pendulum are made of Tiger's Eye. All readings include a photo of your Runes.

Be prepared to outline for me what the problem is (if there is one), the symptoms and behaviors, how long the problem has been going on, and the general history of the animal. Anything you think might be pertinent may give me insight into how to best help your pet.
