TTouch is the name for a particular hands-on healing technique, as well as the name for each individual method used.

TTouch is a way to awaken your pet's body awareness. By touching your animal using specific methods and movements, the pet's focus can be redirected from nervousness, hypersensitivity, fear, or even aggression, and their state of mind is altered. They become anchored in the here and now, instead of lost in destructive cycles in their minds.

When an animal's mind gets caught in a cycle of behavior and reaction, TTouch can bring them out of it by making them aware of themselves outside of their own minds. It brings the animal's mind into the present. This principal is also used to help autistic children break destructive patterns. It helps animals to know themselves, improving self confidence.

TTouch is of course also wonderful for healthy, well adjusted animals, giving them a basis for continued balance. TTouching your pet when she is calm and happy teaches her that TTouching is pleasant, and she is much more likely to accept it if there is an urgent need, for instance if there is ever an accident.

Specific TTouches are useful in reducing stress and possibly avoiding deep shock in emergency situations. These TTouches work in a similar way to acupressure, acupuncture or reflexology.

TTouch is different than simple petting in a few important ways: There are specific methods used; There is a specific order in which to do the TTouches; Different pressures are used with specific methods; direction of touches is specific to animal and situation; The intent of each TTouch is transmitted through your hands to the animal in a more directed way.

Stroking seems to create 'static' in an already tense animal. TTouches are grounding, releasing that energy by grounding it. The short, migrating contact of a series of touches more closely mimics the grooming actions of the animal's mother, or even self grooming, then the usual long strokes of human hands.

TTouch is not massage, but gently stimulates circulation, which can help in healing of injuries. TTouch has also been reported to calm erratic brain waves, in both the receiving animal and the touching human. Stress and emotional upset is often stored in our muscles. Just think of your neck and shoulders after that long tedious meeting.

I believe that the connected TTouches help to reconnect the chakras and energy channels (or meridians) in the animal's body, both relieving blockages and restoring energy circulation to starved areas.

If you touch a place with a blockage, there's a good chance your animal will react badly because of the bottled up energy there. It's just uncomfortable at first, like an extreme case of restless leg syndrome, only concentrated into a very small space.

Appointments

Please call, mail, or e-mail to make an appointment. Be prepared to outline for me what the problem is, the symptoms and behaviors, how long the problem has been going on, and the general history of the animal. Anything you think might be pertinent may give me insight into how to best help your pet.

Rates

First treatments: 45 minutes, $40.
Standard treatments: 30 minutes, $40.
15 minute extensions: $15
***Please note, due to the ridiculous and rising price of gas, a mileage surcharge of$.50/mile for each mile over 25 miles one way, as determined by Google Maps will be added if your home or facility is a great distance from my residence. I recommend group sessions whenever possible. If this is the case, multiple clients may split the charge if I am only traveling to one or close places.
